Three Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team from the spring season.
Freshman tennis player Brett Palmer, softball player Sydney Sherrieb and baseball standout Dante DeSantis each earned the honor.
To be selected to the team, student-athletes, who are voted on by their teammates, must consistently display a high level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor.
Palmer, a North East graduate, went 6-9 overall in singles and 2-12 in doubles matches during dual meets this spring.
Sherrieb, a senior outfielder from Washington, Pa., hit .349 with two home runs, 19 RBIs, 26 runs and five stolen bases this season. She also earned all-AMCC first-team honors.
DeSantis, a senior pitcher from DuBois, was named to the Division III Capital One Academic All-American second team this past week. He went 9-3 with a 2.75 earned-run average and 57 strikeouts this season. DeSantis is third on the Behrend all-time list in strikeouts (191) and fifth in wins (20) and innings pitched (2001⁄3).
