Kelly Hedderick
Penn State Behrend outfielder/pitcher Kelly Hedderick, a Mercyhurst Prep graduate, was named to the ECAC Division III South Softball All-Star Team this week. The sophomore was selected as a second-team outfielder.
Hedderick, the lone player from the AMCC to make the ECAC team, also was selected to the all-AMCC first team this season after hitting a conference-best nine home runs and batting .393. She also collected 47 RBIs and scored 32 runs while posting a .721 slugging percentage.
As a pitcher, Hedderick went 2-2 with a 4.36 ERA in nine appearances and three starts. She struck out 21 batters in 28 innings, while earning one shutout victory.
Hedderick was a Region 6 all-star and team MVP in high school.
