McDowell grad Kelli Rohan added another honor to her St. Bonaventure softball career Tuesday.
The senior outfielder was named to the all-Atlantic 10 Conference first team as a designated player.
Rohan had a highly productive regular season, hitting a career-best .386 with 28 stolen bases in 33 attempts. She also had 44 hits and scored 21 runs. She ranks third in NCAA Division I with .82 stolen bases per game.
She finished the regular season on a roll, hitting safely in the Bonnies’ final five games, going 11-for-19 (.579) while helping St. Bonaventure (15-22 overall, 7-11 Atlantic 10) to three wins. She also scored five runs and stole seven bases during the streak.
Rohan and the Bonnies will compete in the A-10 tournament beginning today at the University of Massachusetts. St. Bonaventure will face Fordham, the No. 3 seed, at 2:30 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.
This is the fourth time in the St. Bonaventure program’s 28-year history that the Bonnies have qualified for the A-10 tourney. The winner gets an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Rohan, who will graduate this month, will return for the 2016 season while attending graduate school. She missed her sophomore season with an injury and is eligible for a fifth year.
